Another study showing that LT is nearing the end

Or is he? At the end the article mentions that Hall Of Fame RBs last about "10 years" longer according to the adjusted age scale. Since you can't know if a player is a hall of famer until after the fact, they don't include that as part of the age calculation. So, at worst this shows that his career is coming to a grinding halt, at best it shows that he's just heading downward on a steady decline (the second sounds better).

From the standpoint, of what all the expectations were, yeah. But for me, with how I played and playing with a fractured hip and how I finished the year out, no. I don't feel I had a down year. And I plan to have a better year this year.

SDUT - 1/25/2003 - Super Bowl XXXVII -- No next time for San Diego?

National Football League Commissioner Paul Tagliabue said yesterday that if the Chargers don't get a new stadium, tomorrow's Super Bowl probably will be the last one in San Diego. NFL owners decide what cities will play host to Super Bowls. But if San Diego doesn't replace its stadium, Tagliabue said, "I think it's unlikely that there will be a Super Bowl in San Diego in the near future." An article that's six and a half years old, but still relevant today. I remember reading it when it came out and thinking it was insane. It makes more sense today.

Print turnabout proves profoundly, portentously fair play

One topic that really stood tall was how the newspaper business is transforming in the digital age. Hearing Chargers and Padres beat writers Acee and Center talk about blogging for a few extra hours a day was insightful and interesting. As was columnist Tim Sullivan's recent experiences with Twitter. Or Tweeting. Or whatever it's called. The newspaper business, with heavy competition from Internet and broadcast outlets, has struggled nationally. That, we know. Daily papers across the country have shut down. How the folks at the U-T are facing these challenges is something that we don't normally hear about directly from those most affected. Quality stuff. Did any of our readers hear this? I missed it and can't find a podcast of it anywhere. Sounds interesting.

These rookies have made a good first impression at offseason camps - NFL.com

A list of 11 rookies (on 10 teams) that have got their new teams very excited. Larry English makes the list. Conspicuously absent from the list? Beanie Wells, Knowshon Moreno, Ray Maualuga, Brian Cushing and everyone else the Chargers were rumored to select in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft (with the exception of Tyson Jackson).
