The Chargers are back at home in Week 14 to face the Broncos for the first time this season. These teams came out of this past weekend on different ends of the spectrum: the Chargers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-0 win over the Patriots and the Broncos just have their five-game win streak broken by the Texans.
This game will go a log way in helping either team continue pushing for a playoff spot. The Chargers will get one step closer to .500 and would hop the Broncos for second place in the AFC West with a win while the Broncos would get back over .500 should they come out victorious.
As of typing this, the Chargers are 2.5-point favorites at home according to DraftKings Sportsbook, a number that slightly changed from the original three-points they opened up with on Sunday night. If anything, the latest lackluster showing against the Patriots may have been enough to move the needle just a tad.
It doesn’t get much more necessary than this. The Chargers essentially can’t afford to lose more than one game down this final stretch. If they want to truly solidify their shot at a wild card, they must win out entirely. That’s a tall order, but when jobs are on the line, crazy things can occur.
