If the Chargers were still fighting for a shot at the playoffs, this would be on heck of an inactives list to see. Fortunately, that isn’t the case, but it’s still probably jarring to a degree seeing so many starters out this week.

Coming into today, we knew Keenan Allen, Joshua Palmer, Nick Williams, and Kenneth Murray were all either already ruled out or were doubtful. But names such as Donald Parham and Zion Johnson (questionable), the former of which wasn’t even on the injury report to begin with, will now officially miss today’s game.

This is the second consecutive game in which Parham will be inactive despite having no injury designation. One starts to wonder whether this is a contract issue or simply a lack of favor with new interim head coach Giff Smith. Either way, it’ll be interesting to see if any further details come out at a later date.

Safety JT Woods, since bein drafted in the third round of the 2022 draft, has played in just 13 games for the Chargers. That includes only three this season after missing a large chunk of time with a non-football related injury. This will also officially be Johnson’s first missed game of his NFL career.
