The Chargers are 90 minutes away from kicking off against the Patriots (2-9) and we’ve got our inactives for Week 13.
For another week, second-year running back Isaiah Spiller continues to be inactive. Elijah Dotson was waived earlier this week and the Chargers continue to keep just two backs active for game day. Brandon Staley has recently voiced that Spiller needs to continue improving as both an offensive and special teams player if he hopes to make it back on the active roster for game days.
The Chargers will also be down starting slot cornerback Ja’Sir Taylor after he missed time this week with an undisclosed illness. Cornerback Essang Bassey should receive an increased snap count in his absence.
The other four inactive players include offensive guard Zack Bailey, tight end Nick Vannett, wide receiver Simi Fehoko, and defensive tackle Scott Matlock. Vannett was promoted following the release of Tre’ McKitty several weeks ago but his time on the active roster was cut short after he sustained the concussion he is still attempting to return from.
