It was just one game, but the Chargers looked markedly different when they took the field against the Bills this past Saturday night.

In Giff Smith’s debut as the team’s interim head coach, both sides of the football looked much more cohesive. The offense, led by Easton Stick, was able to move the ball for most of the night thanks to a clean game plan from offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Moore moved the pocket, got Stick on the move, and allowed the former fifth-round pick to let it rip from the outset.

Defensively, the Chargers saw a reduced role for do-it-all safety Derwin James yet the unit as a whole seemed much more on the same page as they manage to stifle Josh Allen and that high-powered offense enough to keep them competitive until the very end.
