Good morning, Chargers fans!
The Chargers went out and fought until the very end against a hot Bills team this past Saturday night. They even managed to hold a one-point fourth-quarter lead, but ultimately fell short 24-22 after kicker Tyler Bass sealed it late for Buffalo.
Despite the final score, everyone watching could tell this Chargers team came to play with a different mindset than the previous week where they allowed 63 points to the Raiders. The Chargers held Josh Allen and his host of weapons to just 230 passing yards and one touchdown through the air while picking him off once. They only sacked him once, but the pressure was definitely felt throughout the night by both Khalil Mack and Co. The unit looked more cohesive than weeks past despite playing several depth players in increased roles.
All in all, it was an inspired effort that left fans engaged and entertained regardless of the final result. For their efforts this week, CBS Sports analyst John Breech gave the Chargers a C+. That may not sound great, but at least it was higher than the C- he gave to the Bills.
Here’s everything Breech had to say:
“L.A. was right in the mix until the very end. Easton Stick threw for 210 yards and rushed for a touchdown while L.A. forced three turnovers. What ultimately did the Chargers in was going 4-for-14 on third downs and 1 of 3 in the red zone. Then, the defense couldn’t stop Buffalo’s offense on what was the game-winning possession. A much, much better performance compared to what we witnessed last Thursday.”
