Not only are the Chargers being forced to trot out Easton Stick in place of Justin Herbert on Thursday Night Football, they’ll face the Raiders without the NFL’s receptions leader and the team’s top wideout, Keenan Allen. Allen missed both of the team’s practices this week with a heel injury he sustained against the Broncos and the Chargers aren’t willing trot him out on a short week. The good news is that Joshua Palmer is returning so Stick will have at least one of the team’s top wideouts to throw to in his first career NFL start.
As for the rest of the injury report, cornerback Deane Leonard remains out. Three other players are named on the report for this week as questionable: defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia, linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, and tight end Donald Parham Jr.
The Chargers are already short-handed on offense. It would be a shame to see Stick take the field without another potential weapon in Parham.
