The Chargers just dropped their inactives for Week 14 and there aren’t a ton of surprises to be found.
With tight end Nick Vannett returning from the concussion protocol, it looks as if the Chargers are going with him as the team’s third tight end over Stone Smartt who is mainly used as a pass catcher as opposed to an extra run blocker.
Safety JT Woods, fresh off returning from the non-football injury list, will also miss another game as it looks like the coaching staff doesn’t believe he’s ready to return to the field just yet.
The other three inactive players today are cornerback Deane Leonard, linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga, and defensive tackle Otito Ogbonnia. With Ogbonnia out, rookie Scott Matlock will return to the active game day roster after being a mainstay on the inactive list over the past month.
After reports of the Chargers planned to try and deploy a more aggressive approach at finding the hot hand at running back, former fourth-rounder Isaiah Spiller is active for the first time in well over a month.
