For another week, the Chargers will be without a pair of starters on the defensive side of the ball.

The players who will be inactive today against the Chiefs are running back Joshua Kelley, quarterback Easton Stick, cornerback Chris Harris Jr., tight end Tre’ McKitty, defensive tackle Justin Jones, offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes, and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga.

This is the first game that fifth-round rookie Brenden Jaimes will be inactive for the Chargers. This is likely due to the team needing room for versatile offensive lineman Michael Schofield who was signed by the team earlier last week.

Harris is still dealing with a shoulder injury he quietly sustained in the team’s week one game against Washington while Jones is continuing to rehab a calf injury that was initially thought to be just bad cramping from the heat in that same game.

Ogbongbemiga, a 2021 undrafted free agent, is inactive for the first time as well due to the team’s need for Emeke Egbule as he’s being promoted to provide reinforcements at edge rusher with Joey Bosa dealing with some nagging foot injuries.
