The streak continues!
According to a report by NFL insider Aaron Wilson, former Oklahoma State linebacker and 2021 undrafted free agent Amen Ogbongbemiga has made the Chargers final 53-man roster.
Ogbongbemiga played in two games this preseason before being sidelined with an AC joint sprain that occurred on the same play in which he almost recorded his first NFL interception.
The 2020 Second-Team All-Big 12 defender was lauded as a possible free agent find who could immediately help the Chargers on special teams. Despite missing the preseason finale, the coaching staff saw enough to keep him around for a bit longer. It also helps that he plays linebacker, one of the team’s shallowest position groups on the roster.
With twenty minutes to the deadline, it remains to be seen if defensive tackle Forrest Merrill will join Ogbongbemiga as another fellow UDFA from this year’s class. Right now, I’d say his chances are looking pretty good.
