First, the team announced the waiving of long snapper Ryan Langan, tight end Matt Seybert, wide receiver Austin Proehl, and offensive tackle Kyle Spalding. Langan and Spalding were signed as undrafted free agent following this year’s draft while Seybert was signed as one of the four Spring League alumni.
In a corresponding move, the team waived linebacker Damon Lloyd and defensive tackle Chris Okoye with injury designations. Should they go unclaimed on waivers, they will divert to the team’s reserve/injured list.
Lastly, the Chargers activated safety Nasir Adderley off of the reserve/COVID-19. Adderley was placed on the list list four days ago which forced him to miss Sunday’s preseason game against the 49ers.
The next time the Chargers have to make cuts will be down to the final 53. The plethora of hopefuls on the roster have one more shot to impress the coaching staff this weekend in the preseason finale against the Seahawks in Seattle.
