Easton Stick got to start his first preseason game of his young career and payed the coaching staff back with a sensational touchdown to rookie wideout Josh Palmer. However, the 49ers’ Trey Lance put together his own notable performance by throwing a pair of touchdowns en route to downing the Bolts by a score of 15-10 at SoFi Stadium.

Stick completed 10-of-14 passes for 85 yards and the aforementioned touchdown. He also led the team with 15 rushing yards on three carries. Larry Rountree had a team-high eight attempts but the reserve offensive line left him no where to run as he averaged a meager 1.5 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 15 yards.

Jalen Guyton caught just a single pass for 39 yards but that’s all it took to pace the team in receiving yards. K.J. Hill would finish second with 18 yards on just four catches.

Defensively, the Chargers got big plays out of a handful of players throughout the night. In the first half, both Asante Samuel Jr. and Tevaughn Campbell hauled in tipped passes from Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, respectively. The unit also got sacks from Kyler Fackrell and Jessie Lemonier.

Rookie Nick Niemann led the team for the second-straight week with eight tackles.

The Chargers will travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks in next Saturday’s preseason finale. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
