All-Pro OT Mitchell Schwartz voices high praise for Joey Bosa

You want respect? This is respect.

The opinions are flying around social media this week in regards to the Madden 22 ratings reveals and it’s not just casual players getting their takes off.

On Tuesday, those at EA Sports released their overall ratings for the top-10 edge rushers in the NFL. Among them was the Chargers’ Joey Bosa who ranked eighth with a 92 overall rating.

However, one former All-Pro offensive tackle had some opinions on the list.

Former Chiefs right tackle Mitchell Schwartz took to Twitter to point out that Bosa, a player he has seen twice a year for the past five years, should be within the game’s top-three at the position while asserting that he has a case to be THE number one edge rusher in the game.

Bosa’s 92 overall rating in the game isn’t disrespectful, but it does leave room for growth. Injuries can be pointed to as a reason to be low on the Big Bear, but if that’s the case, then a dominant, healthy season in 2021 should quickly raise that overall rating.

And for what it’s worth, Bosa holds the game’s highest rating for “finesse move”, making him one of the most-dominant edge rushers in the game in obvious passing situations. His rating for “power move” is also an 89, good for eighth-highest in that rating, as well.

It remains to be seen if Schwartz’ claims will spur the ratings adjustors to head back to the film and reevaluate their initial rating for Bosa, but if he sees a bump or two early in the season, maybe we we’ll have to thank the former Chief for his praise
