Following the signing of first-round pick Rashawn Slater, the Chargers also signed third-round tight end Tre’ McKitty to his rookie contract, completing the entire nine-player rookie class for the Bolts just in time for training camp to get underway tomorrow.

Five of the teams nine draft picks were signed back in the middle of May and the remaining four spanned the past few months, beginning with Chris Rumph and finishing with Josh Palmner earlier this month and then Slater and McKitty today.

McKitty is expected to have a role in the offense immediately, but figures to have more blocking responsibilities in the immediate while working asa complementary player to the likes of Jared Cook and Donald Parham. But don’t be surprised to see him have a much larger role by the end of the season. Cook is a one-year rental and a duo of McKitty and Parham could be the future of the offense.
