After Rashawn Slater was reported as one of only three 2021 first-round picks yet to be signed as the NFL heads into training camp, the Chargers made quick work to remove him from that group today as the two sides finally came together on a four-year rookie deal.
Please see Slater’s big smile below:

Now that Slater has been inked, the only remaining unsigned first-rounders are 49ers quarterback Trey Lance and Jets quarterback Zach Wilson.
Heading into camp, Slater looks to be the penciled-in starter at left tackle, taking over a crucial position up front that hasn’t seen a consistent starter hold it down for the better part of the last decade. Numerous players have come and gone on the blindside, but the Bolts finally seem to have their franchise left tackle after committing their latest first-round pick to the position.
Now that training camp is here, the entire fan base is liekly over the moon that we finally get to see the new starting five that will hope to carry this Chargers team into a new era of the franchise.
