With the Chargers defense converting from a 4-3 into a 3-4 front, there will now be three interior players on the field instead of two when the team utilizes their base defensive look. So unlike 2020, the entire trio of Linval Joseph, Justin Jones, and Jerry Tillery will now be on the field at the same time instead of just two of the three.
This is going to be a ton of fun as all three players have fairly high expectations from the fan base and now all three will have ample opportunities to show that they’re capable of being the defenders we all expect them to be at this point in their careers. No more rotations and small sample sizes. This is the year the young defensive tackles finally show us what they’ve been working so hard for.
With that in mind, I want to hear all of your opinions on which interior defensive lineman you feel will have the greatest impact during the upcoming season. It would be either of the young guns in Jones and Tillery, or it could even be Joseph who might see a re-energizing campaign in this new scheme.
Heck, maybe it’s Chrisitian Covington who will shine bright with his massive biceps? I guess time will tell.
