Chargers Daily Links: Derwin James named Bolts player to root for

I think I can speak for the entire Chargers fan base when I say we miss Derwin James. That 2018 season of his was so magical and exciting and it’s hard to believe the 2021 season is about to be his FOURTH in the NFL. His fourth. It’s just insane to think that two seasons of James were essentially evaporated into thin air. It SUCKS.

It’s good to know, however, that it isn’t just Chargers fans who can’t wait to see James take the field again. There’s plenty of fans and media from across the league, as well.

NFL.com ‘s Adam Rank just published a list of 32 players — one from each team — that he pegged as the guy to root for on each club. For the Chargers, that player was James.

Here’s what Rank had to say about the selection:

“James made a huge splash in the NFL when he was a first-team All-Pro selection as a rookie. He’s had some terrible luck with injuries over the last two seasons, but here’s hoping he ends that streak in 2021. And as much as I admire him on the field, he also impressed me by crushing dudes in Madden last year. Now I would love to see him get back to dominating on the gridiron.”

James deserves to be healthy. He deserves success and he deserves a long and successful NFL career. We, the fan base, also deserve to experience all that he has to offer this franchise as a player.

Maybe keep him off the field until Week 1? Just keep him encased in bubblewrap until game time, yeah? Sounds good? Cool.
