This is probably the saddest thing I’ve ever had to write about while covering this team. It’s been almost four years of covering heartbreaking losses and devastating injuries, but nothing quite hurts me the way this news pierced my heart this morning.
Forrest Lamp is signing with the Bills on a one-year deal. He will not be returning to the Chargers.
*sobs uncontrollably for 29 minutes

Lamp dealt with more than his fair share of injuries during his four seasons in Los Angeles. After tearing his ACL during the first day of pads in training camp as a rookie, Lamp would go on to start just two games over the 2018 and 2019 seasons before ending his third-year once again on injured reserve.
This past season, Lamp was finally able to stay healthy as he played 100 percent of the Bolts’ offensive snaps at left guard. He was only one of two lineman on the team to achieve that feat in 2020.
Now, after years of hoping and praying he would pan out for the Chargers, he’s on his way to compete for a starting job for another competitor in the AFC. We truly wish Lamp the best of luck, but that won’t stop the excruciating sadness I feel inside.
We’ll miss him dearly.
