We’re two days away from the first night of the 2021 NFL draft and the wait is almost too much to bare at this point. We’re SO CLOSE to finally finding out who the future Bolts will be.
For today’s morning dicussion, we’re asking a simple question: At this point, where do you think the Chargers roster is the strongest? Which position group gives you the most confidence as of right now?
I think I’m going to have to go with the wide receiver position as of this moment. You’ve got the bonafide star in Keenan Allen at the top with some budding talent at the position that really came into their own this past season. However, it’s still not a generally “strong” group when compared to other groups across the NFL. In all honesty, it may actually be an indictment of how shallow the rest of the groups are on the team.
Quarterback is obviously strong with Justin Herbert but I want to see him put it together one more year before we start giving that kind of nod to that group. Offensive line is looking really strong on paper compared to the past decade, but until they play I’m leaving them out of this conversation as well. The secondary is sparse and the defensive line underwhelmed in 2020 due to injuries and other factors but they’ve got the chance to surge forward in this realm in 2021 should they stay healthy and the youngsters progress into who we hoped they’d be at this point in their careers.
I’ll quit rambling and pass this over to you all. In your opinion, which position group on the Chargers is the strongest?
And now for today’s links.
