NFL: Los Angeles Chargers Scrimmage Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, Chargers fans!

The 2021 NFL draft is just nine days away, which things are just about settled when it comes to the work done by scouts and front office members. Staff members aren’t likely popping in new film on potential prospects and the majority of the time spent in the building is probably going towards working through all the numerous draft-day scenarios that may arise.

When Tom Telesco spoke with Chris Hayre on a recent interview for CBS L.A., he said that when draft day arrives, there isn’t much deliberation to be had. By that time, they’ve worked their way through all possible outcomes so there’s zero chance of them getting caught with their pants down.

No matter how the board falls next Thursday, the team will be prepared to take someone. It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s someone they covet, but it will be a player that they feel is the most valuable guy on the board in that particular situation. At No. 13, it’s still a safe bet to assume it’s an impact player, regardless.

As always, please feel free to use this post as another open discussion to discuss anything and everything Chargers.
