In a little under three weeks, the the NFL will be thrust in the whirlwind saga that is the free agency period. There will be plenty of new names in new places and hopefully a few of those notable players find their way to the Bolts in the process.
To kick off this wonderful Friday, I want to hear from you regarding your thoughts on what under-the-radar free agents you may be keeping an eye on when it comes to the Chargers. We all know about Joe Thuney, Corey Linsley, Leonard Floyd, etc., but what about guys who could be signed as depth pieces and potential buy-low candidates?
Guys like Shelby Harris and Roy Robertson-Harris were two former players with connections to Brandon Staley that I touched on recently in another piece but there’s plenty of other players who could be great value buys. One guy who I keep forgetting about is defensive tackle Lawrence Guy. He spent time with the Bolts in the 2013 and 2014 seasons and has been a stalwart player against the run for the Patriots in recent years.
He also plays a position that isn’t exactly a need for the Chargers, but that doesn’t stop him from being an interesting name.
Tossing this over to you, what names do you like in this class that many others aren’t speaking enough about? Do you have any favorites? Let me know.
And now for today’s links.
