The horrendously sad news broke on Monday morning that former Chargers and Tampa Bay Bucs wide receiver Vincent Jackson was found dead in Brandon, Florida, at age 38.
His death is still under investigation at this time, but nothing is going to change the fact that a phenomenal person and player was lost this week. Many of you have shared your heartfelt stories since yesterday and I think we should try and continue that for as long as possible.
For me, he was one of the first Chargers I got to know when I started following the team as a young kid in the middle of Iowa. He was the lone receiver I would pelt with targets as I’d play my friends in Madden during the late 2000s and one of the key pieces to an explosive real-life offense during those same years.
We’re all going to miss him like crazy. Although he went elsewhere before his career came to a close, he’ll always be a Bolt to us.
Please feel free to use this post as another place to share your favorite memories of V-Jax from over the years and discuss the impact this man had on all of your lives.
And now for today’s links.
