The Chargers finally announced their finalized coaching staff for the 2021 season, officially putting to bed any and all speculation that has been built up since the hiring of new head coach Brandon Staley.

The staff consists of 16 total coaches, including 14 new faces joining Giff Smith, who will remain as the Chargers’ defensive line coach, and Dan Shamash, who helped with the tight ends in 2020.
The rest of 14 new coaching hires are as follows:
- Derrick Ansley, 39 - Secondary
- Chris Beatty, 47 - Wide Receivers
- Mayur Chaudhari - Assistant Special Teams
- Shane Day, 42 - Passing Game Coordinator/Quarterbacks
- Tom Donatell, 31 - Assistant Secondary
- Derrick Foster, 34 - Running backs
- Kevin Koger, 31 - Tight ends
- Jay Rodgers, 44 - Run Game Coordinator/Outside Linebackers
- Shaun Sarrett, 41 - Assistant Offensive Line
- Isaac Shewmaker, N/A - Defensive Quality Control
- Frank Smith, 39 - Run Game Coordinator/Offensive Line
- John Timu, 28 - Alex G. Spanos Coaching Fellow
- Chandler Whitmer, 29 - Offensive Quality Control
