Looks like Kenneth Murray will be making his return to the Chargers following the team’s week nine contest against the Eagles. Per Ian Rapoport, the team designated the second-year linebacker to return from IR on Thursday, meaning the Chargers’ linebacker group will be back to full health for the first time since week three.
When Murray returns, it remains to be seen how the starting two spots will shake out. Kyzir White and Drue Tranquill have been fairly solid together but a little bit of a rotation to keep their legs fresh isn’t a terrible idea, either. Brandon Staley was open about Murray’s struggles in run defense which could mean there’s a chance he’ll be relegated to the non-starting role between the three of them.
Before landing on IR, Murray had recorded 19 total tackles with one tackle for loss.
