What happened in last year’s game against the Patriots is still being used as “bulletin board material” this year. According to Chris Harris Jr., he has been reminding the guys in the locker room to remember what happened in last year’s matchup so that motivation and those feelings don’t get lost ahead of this Sunday’s meeting.
Ahead of what should be heavily viewed as a revenge game, I want to know which player(s) you believe need to step up against the Patriots this week in order to ensure the Chargers get back in the win column.
For me, that person seems to be Justin Jones who is returning from IR this week. To be honest, I don’t necessarily believe Jones WILL be the added help this run defense needs, but his presence and experience at least makes the rotation deeper and more reliable. Before exiting their week one game against Washington, Jones did record a tackle in the backfield of running back Antonio Gibson so you already sort’ve seen a glimpse of what he could potentially add to this front seven. However, he’s always been more of a pass rusher along the interior, so time will have to tell, as always.
Let me know who YOU think needs to step up against the Patriots in the comments below and then go enjoy your weekend. We’ll see you on Sunday!
