Tranquill, Adderley return to practice following bye week

The Bolts will look to be much healthier when they host the Patriots.

The Chargers were back on the field yesterday to finally begin their game week prep as they host the Patriots this Sunday. Following some much-needed time off, the Bolts were able to welcome back several players to the practice field, including Justin Jones, Nasir Adderley, and Drue Tranquill. Jones has been on IR the past three weeks while Adderley and Tranquill were both held out of the game against the Ravens due to injuries sustained in their week five tilt with the Browns.

Another name that has a chance to return from IR this week is Kenneth Murray. However, Brandon Staley mentioned during his post-practice presser that Murray’s a bit behind the others. On Monday, he was limited to working out by himself off to the side.

One other name the Chargers would love to get back from injury is Bryan Bulaga who hasn’t played since halftime of their week one game in Washington. He’s been on IR since September 17 when the team also signed Michael Schofield. As far as his timetable for a return, Staley believes Bulaga is trending in the right direction to see the field again in 2021 but he couldn’t quite give any tangible dates.

All of this definitely good news, but it’d be nice to actually know just how bad Bulaga’s injuries are at this point. His injury was fairly quiet when it happened and it’s still tough to know if the team is continuing to be overly-cautious about their players or if we should simply accept the fact that Storm Norton is the team’s starting right tackle for the foreseeable future.
