After being inactive for the first four games of the season, running back Joshua Kelley is active for his second-straight game while rookie Larry Rountree will be inactive. After some underwhelming contributions over the past month, it looks like Brandon Staley wants to give Kelley a shot at earning some more looks with the offense and special teams.
The other players whowill be inactive this week for the Chargers are quarteback Easton Stick, safety Nasir Adderley, linebacker Drue Tranquill, offensive lineman Brenden Jaimes, tight end Tre’ McKitty, and defensive tackle Forrest Merrill.
With Tranquill out this week, expect to see plenty of both rookies Nick Niemamn and Amen Ogbongbemiga playing in the middle next to Kyzir White. I expect Niemann to get the majority of snaps but Ogbongbemiga should spell him throughout.
In place of Adderley, Alohi Gilman should earn the start with rookie Mark Webb expected to see an increased workload.
