For another week, the Chargers will have to go through one of the best rushing offenses in the league. The Ravens are currently the NFL’s number one offense which also includes the league’s fourth-ranked rushing attack.
In very unfortunate news, the linebacker group was hit yet again when Drue Tranquill went down with an apparent pectoral injury late in the game this past Sunday. It seems there’s a good chance he’ll be out against Baltimore which means rookie Nick Niemann could be in line for his first NFL start.
With all of that in mind, Kyzir White will have all the responsibility he can handle as one of the leaders among the front seven. That’s he’s my pick as the Chargers player who will need to show up and have a notable performance this week.
Due to his athleticism, don’t be surprised to see White tasked with spying Lamar Jackson throughout this one. While it’s quite the impossible task to keep Jackson within the pocket, White must do just enough to disrupt Jackson’s escape plan and allow the reinforcements to arrive in time. It’s also likely he gets matched up with star tight end Mark Andrews on more than one occasion which means his coverage chops will be tested, as well.
That’s a quick and dirty on who I feel needs a big game this week, but now I’ll throw it over to you. Who is your Chargers player that must step up this week against the Ravens?
