Ahead of Sunday’s season finale against the Chiefs, the Chargers made a handful of roster transactions, including the placement of two players on reserve/injured.

First, the Chargers signed linebacker Cole Christiansen, defensive end Joe Gaziano, tight end Matt Sokol, and safety Jaylen Watkins to the active roster. In a later move, they also activated cornerback John Brannon from the practice squad. Lastly, the team placed cornerback Casey Hayward and linebacker Malik Jefferson on IR.

Christiansen, Gaziano, and Brannon were all signed by the team as undrafted free agents following the 2020 draft. This is Brannon’s first time up with the active roster while both Christiansen and Gaziano have each played in multiple games this season. Brannon is a former standout for Western Carolina University, where he played with former Chargers running back Detrez Newsome.

Sokol was also originally signed as a UDFA in 2019 while Watkins returned to the team in the middle of this year after playing for the Chargers this past season.
