Despite the underwhelming 2020 season for the Chargers, rookie quarterback Justin Herbert’s phenomenal individual performance has helped more than one former Chargers coach land another job for the 2021 campaign. Former head coach Anthony Lynn was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Lions over the weekend and now former Bolts OC Shane Steichen is reportedly getting hired to the same position with the Eagles under Nick Sirianni.
The two coaches were together with the Chargers from 2014 to 2017 while Steichen was the quarterbacks coach and Sirianni was in charge of the receivers.
The #Eagles have agreed to terms with former #Chargers OC Shane Steichen as their new offensive coordinator, source said. He was key in the development of rookie star Justin Herbert, as new coach Nick Sirianni has quickly moved to fill his staff.
