Per NFL insider Albert Breer, the Rams have reportedly blocked the Chargers from attempting to interview Kevin O’Connell, the team’s offensive coordinator, for the same position with the Bolts.
There was some growing buzz that he’d be the first person head Brandon Staley would try to poach from his old team, but it doesn’t look like Sean McVay wants to see both of his coordinators leave the building in the same offseason.
With O’Connell now out of the picture, there’s also been reports that the Chargers may want to keep some of their offensive staff intact this offseason, which could include the retention of offensive coordinator Shane Steichen an/or quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton. Both were integral in the development of Justin Herbert this season and it would be one of the safer options seeing as this is Staley’s first time running a professional football team.
Sources: The Rams blocked OC Kevin O'Connell from interviewing for the same job with the Chargers. They really value O'Connell, and the job he did for them this year.

Lines of communication remain open, so things could change. But that's where the Rams stand now.
With this in mind, how would you all feel about Steichen returning to call plays in 2021? If you aren’t a fan of that move, who is another option you’d like to see the Chargers consider for their OC?
