Not many people are as respected as Riddick in this business.

On Monday, highly-respected ESPN analyst and former NFL defensive back Louis Riddick was a guest on the Dan Patrick Show where he was asked his thoughts on the hiring of Brandon Staley as the Chargers’ newest head coach.

Riddick could do nothing but gush about 38 year old Staley, calling him “fantastic.” At last year’s Super Bowl, Riddick recalled a conversation with Rams head coach Sean McVay where he told him “you are going to be blown away by Brandon Staley. He is that sharp.”

Just two weeks ago, Riddick was also vocal on his Twitter about just how impressive Staley was when the Monday Night Football crew sat down with players and coaches to prepare for the week’s primetime game. He called Staley “super impressive” and asserted that he’s destined to be a star in this league.

Riddick is one of the most-respected, highly-regarded people within his field. He brings wealth of knowledge to his analyst role as a player and former front office member with the Philadelphia Eagles.

When he speaks, it’s usually a good idea to listen. The fact that he’s gone out of his way to speak such glowing things about the Chargers’ new head coach is something that can’t be understated.
