Head coach Anthony Lynn spoke with the media this afternoon and gave an injury update involving a number of players who either sat out against the Panthers or were banged up during Sunday’s game.
One starter who didn’t play but was hopeful during last week’s prep was offensive guard Trai Turner. Lynn went as far as to say that Turner “will” play against Carolina but he was a late scratch on the final injury report. As of today, Turner will not be participating in practice.
Offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga did start on Sunday but was not able to finish the game due to injury. He is also not practicing today. Lynn mentioned that he and the staff are hopeful they will be able to go on Sunday but it’s currently a day-to-day situation.
Wide receiver Mike Williams missed a good chunk of the game against the Panthers, as well, and he will not be practicing today, according to Lynn. Rookie K.J. Hill played a career high in snaps with him on the sideline and he’ll likely see more of the same if Williams is hobbled at all by the hamstring this week.
Running back Justin Jackson, who hasn’t played since injuring himself early in the team’s Week 1 contest at Cincinnati, will also be back at practice today.
One last note: Unsurprisingly, Desmond King will slide right back in to his slot corner role he’s held over the past three years and continue their full-time while Chris Harris Jr. is on IR.
