Chargers LAtely Ep. 16: Holy Herbert, Batman!

This kid has got it. I tell ya.

What a bummer that the Chargers had to be on the losing side of such an exciting game this past Sunday, but with plenty of positive to take away from the team’s performance, I didn’t find myself hanging my head that much in the days following the overtime thriller.

The biggest takeaway? Justin Herbert was - pun intended - ELECTRIC.

  • 311 passing yards
  • 1 passing touchdown
  • 1 rushing touchdown
  • 1 interception

That was all against the reigning Super Bowl Champs. I’ll take that every day of the week from a rookie QB that wasn’t supposed to start anywhere near Week 2.

The offense was also night-and-day more efficient and explosive compared to their outing against the Cincinnati Bengals when they barely managed to score a single touchdown against a below-average defense.

With the really unfortunate news of Tyrod Taylor’s punctured lung, we may get to see Herbert as the team’s starter indefinitely.
