Happy Victory Monday once again to all of you beautiful Chargers fans out there. I’m here to bring you a fresh new episode of Chargers LAtely to go over yesterday’s game, discuss my thoughts on the offense in general, and touch on the latest injury to Drue Tranquill.

While Tyrod Taylor didn’t look super comfortable while orchestrating the offense, he was oblivious to that fact, either. I would have been much more worried if he just said “it was an off day” or something along those lines. It sounds like he knows exactly where he and the rest of that side of the ball need to improve to stand a chance to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense.

Just in aesthetic alone, the formations and packages they were trotting out were quite different from what we’ve come to expect. There was the expected zone reads, some speed option, and plenty of naked bootlegs and designed rollouts. Through one game, I’d say they need to fine tune a few things with those new wrinkles. The zone read specifically, which many in the fan base were excited for, fell flat against a Cincy defense that was missing their best player.

For the rest of my thoughts on the matter, take a listen to today’s episode. Enjoy the day, everyone.
