Early Sunday morning, it was reported by both ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that wide receiver Mike Williams will suit up and play against the Bengals this afternoon.
Chargers’ WR Mike Williams will, in fact, play today despite being listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, per sources. He practiced this week and the team now believes he’s ready to play.

At the crack of dawn, Adam Schefter’s first report on the matter was that Williams would NOT play against Cincinnati, but thank goodness that got switched around real quick.
While the presence of Williams in today’s game will keep some of the young receivers from showing what they can do form the jump of the season, it’s nothing but good news that Tyrod Taylor’s first start for the Chargers will include all of his offensive weapons being present and accounted four.
The Bengals will be without starting cornerback Trae Waynes, whom they signed this offseason from the Vikings, and backup safety Shawn Williams who was actually their starter for all but one game in 2019. While they added safety Vonn Bell from the Saints, none of those names really move the needle for me when it comes to defending the group of Williams, Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, and Hunter Henry.
Cheers to good news on this game day morning,
