Just four days removed from being one of the Chargers’ first cuts of the new year, wide receiver Andre Patton has already landed with a new team. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Patton has been signed by the Arizona Cardinals, meaning the former undrafted free agent doesn’t have to trek very far to continue his career.
The #Cardinals also are signing former #Chargers WR Andre Patton, per source. https://t.co/3nzxW9tmQ4

In three seasons with the Bolts, Patton spent the first two developing on the team’s practice squad. He saw his first real game action in 2019, finishing with six catches for 56 yards. Those numbers were good for eighth on the team in receptions and seventh in receiving yards.
For most of the offseason, the former Rutgers Scarlet Knight was seen as the front-runner for the team’s WR3 job. However, those chances were mostly shot following the drafting of rookie wideouts Joe Reed and K.J. Hill.
The Cardinals were #1 in percentage of plays run from 10 personnel (4WRs, 1RB) in 2019, so it’s no surprise that they would jump on any available wide receivers to make sure they’ve got the quality to go with the necessary quantity to play their style of offense.
