Open Discussion: What is your favorite NFL photo?

There’s likely millions of photos worthy of being selected over the years, which makes this incredibly tough.

There’s a fun tweet going around right now from NFL Network’s Marc Sessler that asks a simple question to football fans: What is your favorite NFL photo?

There have been plenty of good responses so far. Here’s a handful from people around the media landscape.

Here’s one from the legendary Gil Brandt.

This is an unfortunate by most accounts.

This one is straight cash, Homie.

About time for a Chargers photo.

When I tried to buckle down and decide on a photo, I found myself struggling. Do I go with an older photo, or a newer one? The older photos tend to hold more nostalgia while the new ones may mean a bit more because I can relate to them a bit more fondly. I’m 26 years old, so it’d not like I have a ton of clear memories from the Junior Seau and early Drew Brees days. Heck, I was born a few months after the Chargers’ lone trip to the Super Bowl, and I’m sorry if that makes anyone feel old.

But I think I settled on one in the end:

My fandom was born when I saw LaDainian Tomlinson on television for the first time. Those navy blue jerseys, combined with his blacked-out visor sold me on the spot. It was Chargers, and nothing but the Chargers, from then on out.

I currently have three jerseys of the players in this photo: LT, Antonio Gates, and Lorenzo Neal. Neal is probably my favorite because it was a rare find on eBay and they just don’t make them like that anymore. Plus, fullbacks are just the best.

This photo encompasses a plethora of things that have come together to build my fandom and I can’t think of another, sans a Super Bowl victory, that may take the cake over this one.

Now show me what you all got in the comments below for YOUR favorite NFL/Chargers photo.
