The Big Ten and Pac-12 have officially called off fall sports in 2020. That means there’s a good chance more and more players opt-out of a potential season in the spring to focus all their efforts on getting drafted in 2021.

Without any new film on these prospects, a lot of their evaluations will have to be based off their 2019 film. As for now, media member and draft analysts alike are already attempting to pair prospects from both conferences with teams for 2021. In Bleacher Report’s latest piece, the Chargers were matched with Stanford offensive tackle Walker Little who is projected to be one of the first players at his position to be taken in next year’s event.

Little’s name is a bit of a misnomer. At 6’7 and 320 pounds, he’d become one of the tallest tackles in the NFL the second he steps on the field. Here’s what author Matt Miller had to say about his selection of Little to the Bolts:

“Protecting franchise quarterback Justin Herbert on the edges of the line has to be the No. 1 priority for an underrated duo running the Chargers in general manager Tom Telesco and head coach Anthony Lynn. Walker Little has some injury questions, but if those are cleared up, he’s a legit first-rounder.”

That last part irks me a bit. This team has it’s fair share of injured players on a yearly basis and I just don’t think the move would be to draft a cornerstone-type player who may not be able to stay on the field. In fact, that injury in 2019 is only going to be amplified if he doesn’t get a chance to get back on the field and prove he can stay healthy.

It just wouldn’t be a good look for this front office, either.
