HARD KNOCKS PREMIERES ON TUESDAY! WOOHOO!
I’m not going to lie, with everything else going on in the world, this snuck up on me. But I’m not complaining. Over the last week and a half, NFL Film’s Twitter account has been teasing out some clips from this coming season and it’s been as refreshing as expected.
Hearing Coach Lynn communicate with his players, on top of the players’ interactions with each other, really makes it feel like football is back in its normal swing of things.

In this first one, Lynn tells his team that they won’t be getting close together in order to breakout after practice ends. They’ll all stay a safe distance from each before breaking it down with a “One ... two ... three ... Chargers!” Count that as one more tradition that I didn’t realize would be altered by the pandemic.

Shorts?

This is by far the funniest clip to date. During warm up drills for the running backs, Austin Ekeler gets told that he put on his practice shorts backwards. After a quick look around, it becomes even more apparent. Each pair has the player’s number on the front, and Ekeler’s number is nowhere to be seen. It gets a good laugh out of the group and RB1 takes it all in stride.

Like for book socks

In the latest clip, Denzel Perryman is seen joking around with one of the assistant coaches about the mask on his face, calling it a “book cover” while referring to the book socks that children sometimes put on their textbooks to keep them clean. If you are able to relate to this, it probably gave you a nice chuckle.
That’s been it so far in terms of sneak peeks into the season, but again, the premiere is TOMORROW, Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT on HBO — so be there or be square.
