They finally did it!
The LA Chargers and defensive end Joey Bosa have agreed to a five-year, $135 million extension that will keep him tied to the Bolts through the 2025 season.
There was a lot of speculation in the days leading up to Tuesday’s training camp report date, with some wondering if Bosa would even show up without a new deal. Well, Chargers fans can put all of that behind now as general manager Tom Telesco truly kept things close to his chest with this one. There was a new deal waiting at the facility this whole time.
Chargers and DE Joey Bosa reached agreement on a 5-year, $135 million extension that ties him to LA the next six years, league sources tell ESPN. He had $78M fully guaranteed at signing and $102M guaranteed - a new NFL defensive record.

Bosa is coming off one of the best seasons of his young career where he recorded 67 tackles, 18.5 tackles-for-loss, and 11.5 sacks. His TFLs were a career high while his sacks were one short of tying his best mark in that statistic.
The 2016 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year has finally cashed-in on all of his success these past few years and just in time to coincide with a brand new era of Chargers football.
