Football players work out almost every day and twice on Sunday to stay in peak physical shape to match the demands of the game. As a professional athlete, you essentially live in the weight room and spend as much time in there as you would anywhere else throughout the week.

Sometimes, it can get a bit old going in and out of the same place for days on end. So that’s why it must be a refreshing changeup for Chargers players to see that they’ll have the chance to workout outside for the duration of the season. Below is a video of Chargers strength coach John Lott taking a quick tour of what the Bolts’ outdoor weight room looks like as the team attempts to distance the weights and machines from each other which will, in turn, help keep the players as safe as possible when not between the lines.

Man, I would do a lot of questionable things to get the chance to work out in an environment like that. It just HITS different. Take my word for it. Guys like Austin Ekeler, Derwin James, and Keenan Allen are all going to have a ball with this setup.

Now for today’s links.
