In not-so-surprising news, the NFL finally made it official that all fans who will be in attendance at games in the fall must wear a face mask/covering at all times, according to Brian McCarthy of the NFL’s PR team.
As more and more teams have started announcing their expectations for fan attendance this season, this news wasn’t going to be far behind. Most recently, the Atlanta Falcons announced that they are expecting to have somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 fans at their home games while the Las Vegas Raiders and owner Mark Davis aren’t so sure things are going to go smoothly enough to allow people in their new Allegiant Stadium.
For those wondering, yes, it is league-wide: fans at NFL games this season will be required to wear face coverings pic.twitter.com/D139KGKQ4r

The Giants and Jets, both of whom are technically in the state of New Jersey, are likely going to be hampered by the state’s current limits on events, which is still set at no more than 500 people. As of right now, both teams will be forced to play without fans in the stands.
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy informed the #Giants and #Jets that his statewide limit of 500 people at outdoor gatherings would also apply to NFL teams, per @StevePoliti. Both teams will play games without fans in attendance.

While nothing has been said in the way of how SoFi Stadium will handle the subject of fan attendance, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them find a way to have bodies in the building in order to recoup some of their lost revenue that they certainly did not predict to miss out on in the opening year of this architectural marvel.
