Defensive end Isaac Rochell joined Jim Rome yesterday on The Jim Rome Show to discuss the team’s newest additions to the defensive side of the ball, including the team’s second first-round pick, Kenneth Murray.

To say that Rochell was gushing about his teammates is an understatement. When asked to talk about the team’s expectations in 2020, he let it all hang out.

“Oh, I think it can be lights-out.” Rochell enthusiastically stated. “I always like to start with the defensive line. I can’t picture another line as good as ours with as much depth as our defensive line has. Just in our room, we’ve had a lot of guys stay and we’ve had a lot of retention which I think helps with the overall development.”

“You talk about having two pro bowlers on the edge, signing (defensive tackle) Linval Joseph, he’s going to come in and make a huge impact. Justin Jones — and this is just our starters — he had a huge impact last year and should moving forward. So I think that’s the anchor of the defense.”

When he finally got to the topic of Kenneth Murray joining the squad, his energy was palpable.

“You said it, Kenneth Murray, I mean that dude’s a beast. I can’t imagine what offenses will do having him and Derwin James (on the field). Where do you run the ball? The amount of field that they can cover defensively, and then you add on Rayshawn Jenkins, Chris harris, and some of these other guys, I think we have so much potential. Then the cherry on top is Gus Bradley. He’s a beast. I love his energy. He comes to the facility every day with great energy so I think we have a ton of potential.”
