In rather unsurprising news, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network has reported that the Chargers have officially exercised the fifth-year option on former 2017 first-round pick, Mike Williams.
Add #Chargers WR Mike Williams to the list of fifth-year options exercised. That one is in, as @AlbertBreer said.

With a litany of contracts expiring following the end of the 2020 season, the decision to option Williams gives the team one less crucial player to worry about when negotiations start to heat up.
After a rough rookie season where he dealt with a lingering back injury, Williams enjoyed a breakout sophomore campaign during the 2018 season when he caught 10 touchdowns, becoming the first Chargers wideout to do so since 1994. In 2019, Williams went over the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career. Now, heading into his fourth year with the Bolts, Williams will be looking to put it all together with a new quarterback throwing him the football in 2020.
