Just days after the finale of the 2020 NFL Draft, the fine folks over at BetMGM have pegged new Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert with the 10th-best odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award at +2000.

The Bengals’ Joe Burrow leads all rookies with +240 odds while Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa has the third-best odds at +900. Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has the best odds for a running back and second-best odds overall to win the award at +600 while the wide receiver with the best odds to win is the Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy +1200.
Seeing Herbert receive the 10th-best odds to win the award isn’t all that surprising. He’s the the only QB among the top three that is not slatted to be the day one starter as a rookie. Anthony Lynn has already said Tyrod Taylor will be the opening day starter, as expected. Without getting the chance to play all 16 games, that’s already a hit to Herbert’s chances. Overall, with the tools around him, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Herbert still put up a fight for the annual reward.
