The Chargers finished the 2020 NFL Draft with one of their best picks of the entire weekend when they selected Ohio state wide receiver K.J. Hill in the seventh round. Hill comes to the Chargers after becoming the Buckeyes’ all-time leader in career receptions. He was a two-time Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection over his final two seasons and led the team in receptions as a senior with 57.
The Chargers needed help at wide receiver to complement Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. After selecting Virginia’s Joe Reed in the fifth round, who is seen as more of an offensive “utility” player, the Bolts still needed a pure receiver. Enter Hill. He should immediately step in and compete for the third wide receiver spot, and if the recent string of success by Buckeye wideouts is any indication for his future, I think good things are in store.
Fun Fact: Pro Football Focus reports that both Hill and Reed never dropped a pass over 20+ yards downfield.
Final Grade: A-
Hint: The internet loves the Hill pick
K.J. Hill is gonna win the slot job in L.A., benefit from the attention being paid to Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, and halfway through next season everyone (read: a bunch of dummies) are gonna go "where the heck did this dude come from?"

The Los Angeles Chargers are adding speed on the third day of the draft Joshua Kelley, Joe Reed, and now K.J. Hill. Solid additions at receiver.

Looks like K.Allen will lining up more outside in 2020. #NFLDraft
I’m terms of value for pick location, K.J. Hill might just be the Chargers’ best pick of the draft.

He’s sort of stalled out after a hot start but shoutout to KJ Hill for having the realest family on the planet pic.twitter.com/aQ5pZ22vZ5
