— NFL Draft (@NFLDraft) April 25, 2020
The 5’10, 201-pound Gilman began his collegiate career with the Naval Academy, starting his freshman year with the Midshipmen. After service academies announced in 2017 that players would need to serve at least two years active duty before pursuing pro sports, he transferred to Notre Dame, sitting out the 2017 season.
In 2018, Gilman won a starting job for the Irish, totaling 95 tackles, three tackles-for-loss, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and three forced fumbles. As a senior in 2019, he finished with 74 stops, three for loss, one sack, one interception, three pass breakups, and three more forced fumbles.
