Well, it turns out that Anthony Lynn isn’t that comfortable with Tyrod Taylor. The LA Chargers drafted quarterback Justin Herbert with the sixth overall pick on Thursday, making him their first franchise player at the position since Philip Rivers in 2004.
Herbert played in four seasons at Oregon, going 827-of-1,293 for 10,541 yards, 95 touchdowns, 23 interceptions, and 13 rushing touchdowns on 231 carries with 560 yards. He had 32 touchdowns and six interceptions with the Ducks last season, which he had returned for after it was speculated that he could be a top-five pick in 2019.
He is not a top-five pick this year ... he is the sixth overall pick and he is on the Chargers.
I figured now would be a great time to have a Justin Herbert watch party, aka posting a bunch of videos of him from YouTube. There was a lot of analysis and opinion about Herbert leading to this moment and now he’s got the hope of the franchise pinned on his wings.
I’m starting off with a video from my favorite YouTuber Brett Kollmann in which he calls Herbert “Mitch Trubisky, but cranked up to 11.” I know what the name Mitchell Trubisky does to people but there was a lot to love about Trubisky as a prospect. There’s a lot to like in Herbert as a prospect as well.
