In a recent article geared towards information on the Miami Dolphins, The Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson mentioned that Florida Atlantic linebacker Rashad Smith has been connected with the Chargers, as well as the Dolphins and the Bengals.
Smith was a four-year contributor and three-year starter for the Owls and Lane Kiffin. As a sophomore in 2017, Smith set career-highs with 99 tackles, 12 tackles-for-loss, six sacks, and five pass breakups. As a junior, he posted 85 tackles, 5.5 for loss, one sack, and a career-best four interceptions.

During his senior year, Smith filled the stat sheet with 96 total stops, 11.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.5 sacks, two more interceptions, five fumble recoveries with one returned for a touchdown, and a forced fumble.
In FAU’s 52-28 victory over SMU in the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl, Smith was named the Defensive MVP after collecting 11 tackles and returning a fumble for a score.
